Get used to it: every once in a while, I’ll post in English, be it for international audience or simply because I wrote elsewhere in English and don’t feel like translating the whole thing.
Context: impossible to paste Google documents to Google presentation (internal pasting, web clipboard). Someone complains at Google’s forum. Below is my reply.
Same problem. I tried to copy from drawings to presentation, to no avail. I tried with brand new documents too (new drawng and new presentation). Heck! They even have an article on how it is supposed to work!
abedepaul81 > right, I think they have to revamp the whole Google Apps thing. They accumulated a lot of technology, they sort of merged everything together, but this is very inconsistent (just one example among countless other: did you noticed you can use some fonts in Google Write, but not in Google Presentations?)
They should seriously look at Apple and its framework, which tremendously help achieving a unified interface (for instance, thanks to textServices, every single OS X application coded the right way may use basic Emacs bindings for text manipulation like ctrl+e). Much, much better.
Sure, it requires a massive backoffice rethinking and it will definitely cost time and money. But it will definitely pay for it in the (not-so-long) run.
