So, the happy folks at NeoOffice says
NeoOffice is not Cocoa but don’t worry, it is as good!
. Then, they go rambling about stoopid people who just want blue buttons and even more stoopid geeks who speak of Cocoa whilst they know nothing about it. Fortunately, us, NeoOffice developpers, we know that our product is so good that a Cocoa version not only won’t be released, but won’t even be necessary.
Yeah, right.
The
blue buttons
do not look like blue button. These are not the Mac colors, shortcuts do not work (
try ctrl+k) and selecting a text does not work neither. Being Aqua is not putting some nice colors. This is an experience. Granted, I’m a power user and more and people will be fine with this NeoOffice (since the percentage of geek is getting lower as the Mac marketshare increases). Still
This is just after 10 minutes of test. I don’t want to think how many time
this is blue button
will be proven wrong (I’m not talking about the actual blue buttons here—I understood this is just a shortcut for “Mac look and feel”)
On a more usual note, their
HTML output does not validate, but I’m getting used to it.
So much for NeoOffice.
Again.
